Mamata's Pressure Points - A - B - S

Our mercurial Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is faced with a trifecta of pressure points:

1. Amit Shah led BJP drive into West Bengal. Well asking who is Amit Shah is one thing, facing the heat of the growing prowess of BJP in the state is another thing. Amit Shah has ably led the party into stenghtening its base in the state. Not only that Amit Shah clearly linked the dotted line between Burdwan Blast and Saradha Scam : Saradha scam-black-money-Bangladeshi Muslim-migrants-terrorists-Trinamool.

Amit Shah came to Bengal to remove the TMC from power. The beginning of the end is already unravelling before the eyes of our esteemed Mamata Banerjee!

2. Burdwan Blast could not have happened at a more inappropriate time for the Chief Minister. It lays bare the ticking time bomb Bengal is sitting upon. It is not just terrorist attacks that Bengal has to be wary of but also a looming fear of communal violance in the state with 30% Muslim population.

3. Saradha Scam which started it all cannot be wished away. And with Madan Mitra's arrest, it is just a matter of time before the pack of cards comes crashing down. The infighting and violence within the TMC is already making headlines.

Mamata is fighting on all fronts and increasingly fighting it alone. Left scoffed at the idea of a "secular" front. Congress is clashing with TMC workers with increasing regularity. Mamata is runnng scared of a BJP led Central Governement and avoiding crucial meetings. She is yet to meet PM Modi in person since the elections.

It almost seems like a childish behaviour to wish away the problems and blame it on someone else. There is neither the dignity that the Chief Minister's office demands, nor there is courage to take ownership that the Chief Minister's office warrants.
