Journey to Nowhere

Madan Mitra is in jail but the people of Bengal, especially Kolkata are held captive. How?

Formal protests are making life intolerable for the common man but the untold story is about the impromptu meetings held at very street corner. These do not involve taking permission from the authorities. The road blocks means people are not able to get to work on time and have to travel on foot for long distances. The delayed trains are causing missed appointments and playing a havoc of its own.

In the end all this protest is for what? A show of complete loss of control over law and order. A President's rule. So that TMC can play the victim in the upcoming polls?

People are not so naïve as Mamata Banerjee and the TMC would like them to believe.

The elephant in the room is the BJP and the in-roads it is making in Bengal. So, be it TMC,CPM or Congress, everyone is ruing the fact that they have not been able to capture the verve of the moment and capitalize on the true state of affairs.

It is too late to stem the tide. And yes it is a saffron tide that is churning the state!
