Recently Mamata Banerjee said she is willing to work with the BJP "if it does constructive work". This of course makes is necessary to look at the track record of constructive work in our state under the aegis of Mamata Banerjee and the ruling TMC.
Here is a quick check list of her work. Enjoy, at your own risk...
1. Development work: First achievement, painted the town white and blue at the expense of a near depleted treasury. This was done under the guise of promoting tourism!!!
2. Communal Harmony: Mamata Banerjee charged the BJP with spreading communal discord. Following are some of the steps she took to reduce the ever widening gap between Hindus and Muslims:
a. Started an illegal stipend for mullahs in the state. Even after the Courts squashed it she said that one shouldn't forget that it was the Law that was against Muslims not the Government!!!
b. Increased the dole to the Muslim community by 200%.
c. Legalised illegal madrasas in their droves.
Indeed, we haven't forgotten...
3. Immigration: Refuses to abate the tide of illegal immigrants in the state from Bangladesh. Who cares if Bengal is a ticking time bomb? Vote Bank politics zindabad!!!
4. Law and Order: Well women of West Bengal venture out at their own peril. After all, rape is nothing more than an effort to malign the TMC. Yeah right!!!
5. Corruption: Saradha scam, port scam, sales of painting scam...
