Better Kolkata - Now?

Times of India carried a news today about how the KMC is gearing up to complete its projects in the wake of the upcoming Civic polls.

On the agenda are :
1. Dhapa and Garden Reach water treatment plants
2. Two water boosting pumping stations
3. Property tax reforms
4. Solid waste compactor stations
5. Modernization of Nimtala and Cossipore burning ghats
6. Development of slums
7. Riverfront beautification

The CM Mamata Banerjee wants all these to be completed by January so that TMC can gain mileage before the elections!

December is about to end and the governement is waking up to the reality that corruption and protests do not win elections, governance and "constructive work" is actually needed to win elections.

Shall, we say better late than never or never say never?

TMC will never get any "constructive work" done as it is too busy with other things but governance. But finally they seem to be realizing what PM Modi and the BJP has been saying all along... governance first, politics later.

Mamata Banerjee and TMC would rather go to jail first than acknowledge the truth.
