#KaligramMuharramViolence, Malda,West Bengal - 732126

As usual, Durgapuja was organized this year with proper permission from all Administrative bodies in Kaligram, Malda. When on 13th, Oct night, Hindus were middle of their Durga Idol immersion precession inside village they got to know that IC, Chanchal PS, has suggested armed muslim procession(celebrating Basi Karbala) that was approaching village, to go through this Hindu Village middle of night. Important to note that there is a Court order based on a case that happened 24 years back that no Muhurram procession is allowed through this Hindu Village as it had created havoc in the past and the author of the article had seen it himself. 

So, with this backdrop here is the chronicle of events

1. 13th Oct, night  Hindus were busy doing their Durga Idol immersion precession as per Police guidance. Same night Muslims celebrate what they call Basi karbala
2. Hindus got to know that Chanchal, PS -IC in charge has allowed Muslim mob (brandishing swords,  lathis) that was coming towards the village, to pass through the village.
3. Hindu youth and leaders protested - IC Tahid Anwar absued Hindus and called educated ladies 'Prostiutues'
4. 12 AM - Hindus decided to abandon the Idol middle of Road and decided to resist the Muslim mob as in the past loot and lot of fight had happened in the name of Muhurram
5. Around 4 AM, 14th October ~200 Armed Police from Malda came and Administration forced Hindus to do the immersion of the Idol
6. While rest of the people busy in Idol immersion, 8 Hindu leaders were arrested by police for NO reason in the name just wanted to do some discussion in the matter
7. 10 AM, 14th October - Hindus of whole Kaligram village gheraoed Chanchal,PS for the release of 8 Hindu leaders
8. 5 PM, 14th October - Administration was forced to release the Hindu Leaders and SDPO apologized to the whole Village
9. Around 10 PM, 14 October - Muslim mob of 20k from neighbouring Muslim dominated villages ran rampage in the Hindi village with local made bombs , pipe-guns , pistols , swords and other ammunition. RAF that was deployed by Administration to maintain security ran away. Horrific loot, rape of Hindu women continued till next day. Hindus tried to resist as much as they can to save life, property and modesty.
10. Desperate calls made to District Administration for help  went unanswered  
11.  Around 5 PM, 15th October , DM , SP, DSP all came with large forge from Malda police Head quarters. By the time police mob ran away
12. Now Police is patrolling is everywhere in Kaligram Village. Hundreds of villagers are homeless and waiting for next set of Muslim mob rampage.

Dussehra-Muharram Riot in Bengal 2016

1. ChandanNagar – Chunchura (Urdibazar) – Telenipara, Hooghly District

Muslims start throwing beer and liquor bottles at Hindu shops and houses along the road where their Tazzia procession was going. It is alleged that Muslim criminals belonging to Anwar Mia Gang fired 2 rounds from country made pistols. Hindus protested, were beaten up by large Muslim mobs. RAF, police deployed. Later Hindus put up a road block at Taldenga area. At least 50 shops of Hindus looted and vandalized.

2. Adgodi Village, under Shankrail PS, Howrah District

Quarrel starts with Muslim mobs on Muharram revelry molesting Hindu women passengers of a bus. 3 Hindu youth protest. They are outnumbered by Muslim mob, are beaten up by Muslims. Then reinforcement of Hindus arrive, there is heated discussion among Hindu and Muslim community followed by large scale rioting, attacks with swords, daggers (bhujalis), Crude Bombs are hurled. In Madarsas across Bengal they are teaching – “Hindu women are “Ganeemat Ka Maal”.

3. Taltali village, Jalangi PS,  Murshidabad District

Violent Muslim mobs riot and loot in the guise of Tazzia procession.

4. Manikpur Beltala, Sankrail PS., Howrah District.

Hindu Muslim fights, several people injured. Police role is biased. Hindus arrested initially then after some pressure few Muslims also arrested.

5. Hajinagar, near Naihati, North 24 Parganas District.

Hindu Shops, Houses looted. Hindu women molested initially, crude bombs charged. An ancient  Hanuman temple charged with Bombs. RAF Deployed.

6. Khargapur Golbazar market. Paschim Medinipur District (Same place where Rohit Tanti was murdered)

About 40 shops belonging to Hindus burnt, looted. Crude Bombs charged. A Jain Temple at Kharida Bazar was also Bombed on the mid night of 13^th - 14^th October at about 00:10 Hrs. Police atrocities on Hindus. RAF Deployed. A TMC office was also vandalized near GoleBazar by Muslim mobs but local TMC leaders are too afraid to utter a word against the attack due to their party supremo’s Muslim Appeasement diktats. Off the record, many TMC leaders of the stature of so called ‘Bahubali’ or Heavyweights speak against Islamic Jihadi activities in West Bengal and want strong Hindu unity.

7. Rishipara, just behind Kaliachak PS, Malda District. (Kaliachak where there was wide spread Jihadi violence in January 2016)

Tension due to Tazzia procession and assembly of large Islamic mobs chanting Anti Hindu slogans like ‘Kaffer’, eve-teasing, riots.

8. Kalaberia vill. Bhagabanpur PS. Poorba Medinipur District.

9. Ballabhpara Ghat Hatkhola, Katwa PS. Bardhaman District.

Violent Muslim mobs riot and loot in the guise of Tazzia procession.

10. Kharba village, Chanchal PS. Malda District.

A Bomb Blast: Jain Temple, Kharida Bazar, Kharagpur, West Bengal, 14^th Oct 00:10 Hrs

Reactions:

Mamata Banerjee: Siltent, no Media (Print & Electronic) coverage, Media Blackout. Only DainikJugashankha had a headlines on this issue on their front page. This is the only nationalist newspaper in West Bengal.

Communists: Cadre Blaming BJP, RSS, Cow Vigilante etc as usual. No reaction from leaders.

Seculars: Still under #StockholmSyndrome #Sleeping

BJP Leader Sri Dilip Ghosh (State President & BJP MLA, Kharagpur Sadar : Lawlessness due unabated Muslim appeasement of the Mamata Banerjee Government in utter disregard to provisions of the constitution. Sri Dilip Ghosh was in Kharagpur and had discussions with administration and police to stop the attacks and provide security.

Tapan Ghosh (Ex RSS Pracharak, Now Founding President of Hindu Samhati) has condemned the attacks on Hindus on Dussehra – Muharram cusp. He has also lauded the Brave Hindus who retaliated in self-defense and boosted their moral.

Arnab Mitra (Youth Hindutva & BJP Leader): It is a pre-planned well-orchestrated attack on the Hindu community of West Bengal to uproot them from West Bengal. It is a well thought out conspiracy against the Hindu Santan of Bharat Mata and Banga – Janani which has its roots in the concept of Greater Bangaldesh as a Dar-ul-Islam, cherished by Anti Bharat forces in the sub-continent like Pakistan, ISI, Jamat and several other Jihadi organizations. This definitely is a ramification of blatant Muslim appeasement policy of the Mamata Banerjee Government. First Durga Puja Visarjan was delayed or stayed. Hindu individuals and organizations had to go to court against this un-written order of the ‘Tughlaki’ whims of Mamata Bannerjee. Then there are attacks on Hindus on Muharram just after Dussehra, it is a clear message to the Hindu community of West Bengal to leave West Bengal as was conveyed on 16^th August 1946 – “Direct Action Day” by Jinnah and Suhrawardy. The unfortunate part is all this is happening in West Bengal with the complicity of the Government of West Bengal led by Mamata Banerjee.

A Talk on -“Demographics changes & it’s impact on Integrity of India”

Report on a Talk by Awakened Bengal, Bangalore on 17th, September at Mythic Society Hall

‘Demographics changes & it’s impact on Integrity of India’ – was the topic of an Intellectual Talk that happened last Saturday here in Mythic Society Hall, Bangalore.  The talk was organized by a group of Bengali IT professionals, authors, scientists and social activists called ‘Awakened Bengal’. Key speakers of the talk were - Sri Tapan Ghosh, Founder Hindu Samhati& Sri Sandeep Balakrishna, eminent columnist. The Talk was presided over by Dr. Giridhara Upadhaya, eminent Microbiologist & social worker.

The talk started in jam packed Mythic Society hall in the evening, with a nationalist song followed by speeches and finally, concluded with very invigorating question-answer session.  While opening the session, Sandeep Balakrishna highlighted the risk and the challenges that India is facing because of inorganic demographic change that is happening in the country not only from failed nations around India, but also very much from within. He pointed out that Indian modern society takes veil of ‘Secularism’ and refuses to respond to this challenge. ‘True nationalism’ that he describes as Hinduism must be cultivated and represented in different forms from literature, articles to research works to define the risk and to build meaningful resistance. Moreover, he emphasized - ‘just building & preserving Temples alone, Indian society will not be able to respond this eminent danger’.

Sri. Tapan Ghosh started his speech with roaring applause from the audience. He began his speech by giving a pretext to the problem of changing demographics and how it’s impacting India in 21^st century. The main reason as he defines ‘due to Muslim populationgrowth rate that ismainly contributed by ever expanding domesticMuslim birth rate and not solely due to infiltration through porous borders of rural Bengal or elsewhere’. The corrective measure that he decipheredas ‘total no of children per Muslim female must be capped instead of popular belief that proposes to cap total no Muslim children per Maleas polygamy in Muslims is legal in India’. The havoc of demographic change as he described as ‘worse than any riot or carnage’, because according to him organic demography if altered in a society the ‘whole non-Muslim population faces wrath of Muslim expansionism not a section of society or group’.

Dr. Giridhara Upadhaya in his own style described the demographics challenges with data and defined the problem with statistics that not only took the audience by surprise, but also put rational question mark on the immigration & population control policies of current and past Indian governments. He also emphasized on current situation of ‘Kashmir where due to demography changes, even in a small temple in Srinagarthe basic dailyritualsare not allowed to bepracticed’. Talk ended with wonderful rendition of ‘Vandemataram’ by Dr. Giridhara Upadhaya.

"দুধ কলা, কাল সাপ আর আদর্শ ছেলে ফাহিম"

বিদেশে যাচ্ছে - বাবা মাকে একথা জানিয়ে বাড়ি ছেড়েছিল ফাহিম। তারপর মাদারীপুরে গিয়ে এক শিক্ষককে হত্যার উদ্দেশ্যে কুপিয়ে জখম করেছে সে, দুই সঙ্গীসহ। কারণ ঐ শিক্ষক হিন্দু, মুসলিম নন। ফাহিম যে ভিতরে ভিতরে এরকম উগ্রপন্থার দিকে ঝুঁকেছে এ কথা তার পরিবার, বন্ধু, সহপাঠী বা শিক্ষক- কেউ জানতো না। এসএসসি তে জিপিএ-৫ পাওয়া ছেলে। এইচএসসি’তেও ভালো করার কথা ছিল। সবসময় পরীক্ষা আর ক্লাসে নিয়মিত উপস্থিতি। কারো সাতে পাঁচে নাই। পাঁচবার মসজিদে গিয়ে নামাজ আদায় করছে। এহেন ছেলেকে সবাই সন্দেহের বাইরে রাখবে তো বটেই, তাকে নিয়ে কেউ আসলে কখনো মাথাই ঘামাবে না। সে না বলে চলে যাওয়ায় বাবা মা পুলিশকে জানিয়েছে। 

ফাহিম

প্রতিবেশিরা বলেছে, এই ফাহিম কারো দিকে কখনও চোখ তুলে তাকাতো না। শুধু পড়ালেখা আর নামাজ কালাম নিয়েই থাকতো। এইখানে এসে আটকে গেলাম। কেন? একটা ১৭/১৮ বছর বয়সের ছেলে- সে কেন চোখ তুলে চায় না? তার তো দুই চোখ ভরে এই দুনিয়া দেখার কথা! তার তো চারিপাশ নিয়ে তীব্র কৌতূহল থাকার কথা। তার তো ক্রিকেট ফুটবল হলিউড বলিউড ফ্যাশন টিভি আড্ডা বন্ধু ফুচকা চটপটি আর গার্লফ্রেন্ড নিয়ে ভাবার কথা, মেতে থাকার কথা। তবে কেন সে মুখ তুলে চাইতো না? কেন তার জীবন ঘর আর কলেজ আর মসজিদে সীমাবদ্ধ হয়ে গিয়েছিল? কে করলো তাকে এমন? যে বাবা মা আজ সন্তানের ছবি পত্রিকার পাতায় দেখে আঁতকে উঠেছেন, আমি দিব্যি বলে দিতে পারি, এতোদিন তারা নিজের মুখচোরা অস্বাভাবিক ছেলেকে নিয়ে অত্যন্ত সুখি ছিলেন। কেন সুখি? ছেলে জিপিএ ৫ পায়, ছেলের কোন বন্ধু নাই, ছেলে পাঁচ ওয়াক্ত নামাজ পড়ে, ছেলে ঘরেই থাকে- শুধু কলেজ আর মসজিদে যায়। এইসব অস্বাভাবিকত্ব নিয়ে ওই ব্যর্থ বাপ মা ছিলেন আত্মতৃপ্তিতে ভরপুর। তারা চাপা গর্ব নিয়ে ছেলেকে দেখতেন। কিন্তু ভিতরে ভিতরে ছেলে এক অস্বাভাবিক জীবনবোধ নিয়ে বেড়ে উঠেছে, এক বীভৎস দর্শন কখন তাকে ভর করেছে- এসব কিছুই তারা জানতে আর বুঝতে পারেননি। 

শিক্ষক রিপন চক্রবর্তী

শিক্ষক রিপন চক্রবর্তীর কোন শত্রু ছিল না। তিনি নিজের মত থাকতেন। হিন্দুধর্মের মানুষ বলেই তাকে এরকম একটি হামলার লক্ষ্যবস্তু হতে হয়েছে। ফাহিম বা তার সঙ্গীদের কারো সাথেই তার কোন জানাশোনা ছিল না। উগ্রপন্থীদের বিশাল পরিকল্পনার অংশ হিসেবে ফাহিমরা এই হামলায় অংশ নিয়েছিল নিশ্চয়ই। আগে শুনতাম, গরীব ঘরের ছেলেমেয়েদের কাজে লাগানো হয়। আজকাল পাশা উল্টে গেছে। অবস্থাপন্ন, শিক্ষিত বাপ মায়ের ছেলেমেয়েকে দলে ভিড়ানো হচ্ছে। এদিকে, শুদ্ধস্বরের প্রকাশক আহমেদুর রশিদ টুটুল হত্যাচেষ্টা মামলায় আটক আনসারুল্লাহ বাংলা টিমের সদস্য সুমন হোসেন পাটোয়ারি জঙ্গি সংগঠনটি সম্পর্কে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তথ্য দিয়েছে। সুমনও নিতান্তই অল্পবয়সী একটা ছেলে। সে নিজেই টুটুলকে চাপাতি দিয়ে তিনটি কোপ দিয়েছে বলে স্বীকার করেছে। তারপর ঠাণ্ডা মাথায় পাশেই এক মসজিদে গিয়ে রক্তমাখা চাপাতি ধুয়েছে। সুমন, ফাহিম- এই ছেলেগুলোর চেহারা খুবি সাধারণ। এদের দাড়ি নেই, পরনে পাঞ্জাবি নেই যে তাদের আপনি চট করে জঙ্গি বলে সনাক্ত করবেন। এরা কারো সাতে পাঁচে থাকে না বলেই আপাতদৃষ্টে মনে হয়। কিন্তু ভিতরে ভিতরে এদের মগজ ভরে গেছে হিংসা, বিদ্বেষ, ঘৃণা আর ক্লেদে। এরা এই পৃথিবীটাকে আপন করতে পারেনি। তাদেরকে পরকালের স্বপ্ন দেখিয়ে ইহকালকে বিষিয়ে দিতে উদ্বুদ্ধ করা হয়েছে। তারপর এরা ধারালো অস্ত্র নিয়ে ছুটে গেছে তাদের দিকে, যাদের ওরা মনে করছে নাস্তিক, মুরতাদ, ইসলাম অবমাননাকারী। উগ্রগোষ্ঠীর পছন্দ অনুযায়ী জীবন বিধানের বাইরে চলছে যারা, তাদেরকে সরিয়ে দেয়াটাই এরা নিজের জীবনের মূল কাজ বলে ঠিক করে নিয়েছে। এরা শেখেনি মানুষকে ভালোবাসতে, এরা শেখেনি সহমর্মিতা, এরা জানেনা অভিযোজন কী। এদের কানে ক্রমাগত ঢুকিয়ে দিয়েছে কেউ হিংসা আর অশান্তির মন্ত্র আর ধর্মের ভুল ব্যাখ্যা। এই প্রক্রিয়া তো একদিনের নয়। এটা বছরের পর বছর ধরে চলেছে। একদিনে ফাহিমকে প্রস্তুত করা সম্ভব নয়। কারণ কয়েকদিন বা কয়েক মাস কানে কুমন্ত্রণা দিলেই যেকোনো মানুষের পক্ষে চাপাতি হাতে ছুটে গিয়ে নিরপরাধ মানুষকে কুপিয়ে আসা সম্ভব না। এর জন্য দীর্ঘকাল ধরে মন্ত্রণা দিতে হয়, প্রশিক্ষণও লাগে। এইসব ঘটে গেল চোখের সামনে, আর বাপ মা খুশিতে বগল বাজালেন এই ভেবে, ছেলে জিপিএ পায়, ছেলে কারো পানে চোখ তুলে নাহি চায়! হায়রে! এই হলো এদেশে বেশিরভাগ মানুষের কাছে নৈতিকতার ব্যাখ্যা। 

ব্লগার অভিজিৎ রায়ের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলি

ব্লগার হত্যাকাণ্ডে ধরা পড়া তরুণ জঙ্গিরা স্বীকারোক্তি দিয়েছে, চাপাতি দিয়ে হত্যায় সওয়াব বেশি, গুলিতে সওয়াব কম। সেইসব জঙ্গিদের কারো বয়স ২৫ থেকে ৩০ এর বেশি না। দেশকে গড়ে তোলার বয়সে দেশকে রক্তাক্ত করার মিশন নিয়ে নেমেছে তারা। পত্রিকায় পড়লাম, সদস্য সংগ্রহে পাকিস্তানের মধ্যবিত্ত যুবকদের দলে টানছে আইএস। এর মধ্যে বিত্তশালী পরিবারের অনেক যুবকও আছে। তারা এখন সাইবার পরিচালনা, হাসপাতাল ও প্রশাসনিক কর্মকাণ্ড চালাতে সক্ষম যুবকদের ভেড়াচ্ছে। প্রায় ৭০০ তরুণ-তরুণী পাকিস্তান থেকে আইএসে যোগ দিয়েছে। 

ফাহিমের পাশের ফ্ল্যাটের বাসিন্দা বলেছেন, পত্রিকায় ছবি দেখে তিনি ফাহিমকে চিনতে পারেননি। তার ভাবনাতেও ছিল না যে তার পাশের বাড়িতেই কোন উগ্রপন্থী বাস করতে পারেন। তো তিনি বুঝবেন কী? নিজের ঘরের ভিতরে ছোটকাল থেকে উগ্রপন্থী পেলে পুষে বড় করেছেন বাপ মা, প্রতিবেশি তো কোন ছাড়! এই ঘটনার পর পাশের বাড়ির যে বাচ্চা ছেলেটাকে চোখের সামনে তরুণ হতে দেখলাম, তাকে সন্দেহের চোখে দেখা শুরু করেছি। সামনের বাড়িতে ভাড়া আসলেন যে ভদ্রলোক, তার মেহেদি দেয়া দাড়ি দেখে মনে মনে কেঁপে উঠেছি। জানি না, কে কোথায় ঘাপটি মেরে আছে।

আজ দেশের এই চরম ক্রান্তিকালে হা করে বসে আছি- বিচার করবে সরকার, অপরাধী ধরবে পুলিশ, শাস্তি দেবে সর্বোচ্চ। কিন্তু নিজের ঘরে কালসাপ দুধ কলা খেয়ে মোটা তাজা হচ্ছে কী না, তাই জানি না। কারণ সাপ রাতে আমাকে জড়িয়ে ধরে ঘুমায়, আমি ভাবি, সে আমার আপন। নাগরিক হিসেবে দায়িত্ব কি শুধু ভোট দেয়া আর সরকারকে শাপশাপান্ত করা? নাকি, আমারও জানতে হবে, বুঝতে হবে, শিক্ষিত হতে হবে! নিজের জাতীয়তাবোধ আর অসাম্প্রদায়িক চেতনাটা শানিয়ে নিয়ে সতর্ক থাকতে হবে আমাকেও। যে সন্তান আমার গর্ভ থেকে বেরিয়ে এসে পৃথিবী দাপিয়ে বেড়াচ্ছে, সে এই সুন্দর দুনিয়াকে যদি কলুষিত করে, তার দায় তো আমারও। এই দায় তো এড়িয়ে যাবার কোন উপায় নেই। নাকি আমি নিজেই জানি না দেশাত্মবোধ আর জাতীয়তাবোধের আসল সংজ্ঞা! নাকি নিজেই বুঝিনা মানুষ হওয়া কাকে বলে! যদি তাই হয়, তবে নিশ্চিত, আজ সামনে ঘোর অমানিশা! এর থেকে নিস্তার নেই! কেন এত অস্থির আমরা? কেন এত হিংস্র আর অসহিষ্ণু? কেন আমরা চাই নিজের মত একটা পৃথিবী? কেন আর কারো পছন্দ অপছন্দের ধার ধারি না?

একজন বাংলাদেশের হিন্দু ভাইয়ের চোখে ভয়াবহ সন্ত্রাসবাদ, 

তার সুরক্ষার কারণে নাম প্রকাশ করা হল না
