We all know about our Ex PM Shri Vajpayeeji & his vision, "On the infrastructure front, Vajpayee launched two ambitious projects: the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) to connect the four biggest metro cities along with other cities through the Golden Quadrilateral, and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PGMSY) to every village of the nation by road. These two projects also revolutionised the real estate sector, commerce and the rural economy. The improved road connectivity further integrated the country through a network of world-class highways, which put India on the fast lane to socioeconomic development. Indeed, on the highway to prosperity!"

In 2009,Bengal gave the indication that Left will go. TMC won a handful of Loksabha seats. UPA supreomo is an opportunist that the whole world knows now.Seeing TMC in command quickly ditched CPM & Lalu welcomed TMC in both arms. Left,Lalu were just dumped while they were the key parners in UPA1. Although it is Irony same Lalu is again alligning with Congress in Bihar Bypolls after Loksabha snub of 2014. Same TMC is offering parnership to Left to fight against Shri Modi. Although a few days back TMC had annual celebration of their party workers got killed by Left police on 21st July.

So left was with UPA1,no national highway repair was done. Mamata was in UPA2 nothing was being done on National highways.

In a Government function of Gangarampur in Dakshin Dinajpur District, Finally Hon'ble CM understood how pathetic condition of the national Highways are & she turned the function into an TMC function.She realised on that Day as she reached there by Road avoiding Modi's train. She shouted that if Government doesn't repair Road ,she knows how to get it down. So she gave indication that she is still an activist than CM. We wonder where that CM was when party organised Roadblocks in National highways month after month to evict Tata from Singur. Where the activist was when UPA1 not repaired highways. Where the Central Minister & activists were when Mamata Bannerji was part of the UPA2?

Coming in power as well Shri Narendra Modiji maintaining vision of Shri Vajpayeeji & anounced multiple highways in West Bengal. He has proved NDA or BJP does not believe in party rivalry but the infrastructure development for progress of Entire India.Now TMC government is busy finding the land even. Track record they are having,it is doubtful that they will get land.

After coming into power TMC has not added single Kilometer of Road. Neither in municipal areas nor in Panchayat areas. Same is the case of Road under state authorities. They will have to decide whether BJP Samvad Cell will have to be destructive activusts like them. When they will start thinking of even starting development work?

Politicians give birth to goons and criminals, nurture them, exploit them and when job done – finish them. This is a well-established process of conducting the business of politics in India. This “art” of keeping goons and criminals as “pets” infected Indian politics since the dark days of Mrs Indira Gandhi. Subsequently this “art” of petting goons and criminals have evolved to a “fine art” under present day politicians. Mr SharadPawar, Mr Karunanidhi, Mr Lalu Prasad, Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav, ….have actually perfected this fine art of running the “show” through the art of deploying “pet” goons and criminals.

However in Bengal, sadly, the situation is different.

Every child in Bengal today have heard the Ponzi schemes of Saradha. With each day passing, the deep connection of the top-brass of ruling Trinamool Congress is getting exposed – thanks to investigation by the CBI. But this may only be the tip of the iceberg in terms of fraud and deceit of the ruling partyhave unleashed on the poor people of Bengal.

Below are just 2 demonstrating of the mammoth loot and deceit the TMC-run Govt of West Bengal have unleashed on the poorer section of Bengal society :

A)     The KD Singh – Alchemist Fraud :

Kanwar Deep Singh, Current RS MP from TMC. Entered RS thru JMM in 2010. Switched over to TMC few months later.

•       Owns majority stake in Anant Media Private Limited, which publishes “Tahelka” magazine •       In February 2009, IT raided at 11 premises of the Alchemist Group across India. He surrendered an unaccounted income of Rs.22 crores •       KD Singh was intercepted on March 2011 at IGI Airport, Delhi by airport security for carrying a "large sum of cash" on a flight to poll-bound Assam •       In 2012, the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO)  initiated investigation against the group after Registrar of Companies (ROC) noted that one of its outfits had raised money from the public by offering various investments it probably could not honour •       In May 2013, three  'group' companies were under the corporate affairs ministry's scanner for their fund-raising activities, which allegedly ranged from accepting deposits against fictitious property certificates to issuing preference shares to investors without the regulator's approval •       The company and its five directors have been barred from the securities market till the time all its schemes are wound up and the money is refunded to investors •       On June 21, 2013, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) ordered Alchemist Infra Realty Limited to shut down its "collective investment scheme.“ •       By that time – over Rs.1000 Crores were collected across India in during previous 5 years from small investors •       WB Assembly Leader of Opposition Mr Surjya Kant Mishra alleged in a letter to the chief secretary of West Bengal that Ms Mamata Banerjee had travelled with KD Singh and one other businessman on a chartered plane, numbered N218 ‘KD’, in early April 2013. •       It was also alleged that Ms Mamata Banerjee and her Team of crooks were trying to get K D Singh to help Saradha (manage Saradha mess)

B)     Master Killer : Saradha Fraud :

·         Amount involved: over Rs.4,000 Crores (so-far). Its understood that this figure is just the tip of the iceberg

·         Suicides reported so far : over 100

·         Estimated number of families cheated : over 15 Lakhs

·         Exact Nature of Business: Not Clear. Invested in high visibility sectors such as : Film Industry, Media House, etc, such as : Bengal Post, Seven Sisters Post (English dailies), Kalom (Bengali daily), PrabhatVarta (Hindi daily),AjirDainikBaturi (Assamese daily),Sakalbela, Azad Hindand Parama (Bengali dailies). It also owned two Bengali news channels (Tara Newz and Channel 10), two Bengali general entertainment channels (Tara Muzic and Tara Bangla) and one FM radio station.

ü  Needless to mention - these channels were channelized to canvass for Ms Mamata Banerjee / Trinamool Congress during previous Assembly elections.

·         Purchased many heavily indebted companies such as Global Automobiles to front the latest version of its Ponzi scheme

·         On August 17, 2014, CBI raided 65 spots

·         Fraud / Money Laundering not only restricted to West Bengal but also in Assam, Odhisa and few other States. It is reported that the Health and Education Minister of Assam, HimantaBiswaSarma, may have profited personally from the Ponzi scheme. Also Sudipto Sen had claimed of paying Rs 250 million to Manoranjana Singh, wife of former Congress Member of Parliament from Assam and Union Cabinet minister Matang Singh, Rs 30 million to her father K N Gupta to buy shares in a TV channel, allegedly at an inflated price

·         High profile elements connected/ arrested (so far)/being Investigated/Interrogated by various agencies (CBI, ED, etc) :

(While the list is MUCH bigger, the writer prefers to stop here. The idea is to show the extent of Saradha entwined with Trinamool Congress. The writer is also not highlighting the other frauds perpetrated by Rose Valley, etc, due to paucity of space).

The million dollar questions is : where is the money going ? If you go by the latest revelations: it is really scary !

Investigating agencies CBI and Enforcement Directorate have stumbled upon sensational information that suggests large amounts of cash were sent to Bangladesh through an influential politician, who is now a Rajya Sabha MP ! The CBI contacted various agencies of the Ministry of Home Affairs as well as the Ministry of External Affairs and learnt that several dossiers have existed for decades about the MP with the home department of the state government. All these agencies were aware of the MP’s antecedents and links with various Islamic fundamentalist organisations including SIMI, of which he was a key member.

The CBI and ED learnt that funds collected from the public through Saradha’s chit fund schemes were centrally deposited at the group’s offices in Salt Lake. After being accounted for, hundreds of crores were transported to various centres close to the Indo-Bangladesh border. The cash was put in huge bags and taken by ambulances belonging to the Saradha group. The Indian currency was then secretly converted to Bangladeshi Taka and European currencies at a “Foreign Currency Convertor Centre” belonging to a man from Kolkata. Armed couriers of radical Islamic outfits would then smuggle the converted currency across the border under the cover of darkness.

The deal was that Sen would finance these radical outfits, mainly the Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, but separately large amount of his funds would also be delivered to designated places in Bangladesh. The leaders of these outfits had to arrange for Sen’s funds to be sent to banks in Europe through their couriers. The sleuths believe that thousands of crores collected from Indian citizens by the Saradha group had reached these “anti-India radical Islamic groups in Bangladesh” and also to several terrorist outfits of the country who were earlier operating in Bangladesh.

Former Special Director, Intelligence Bureau said, “We all know who this man is. It is unfortunate that West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee sent Ahmed Hassan alias Imran to the Rajya Sabha despite knowing his antecedents. When SIMI was banned in 2001, Mamata Banerjee was a Union minister and she should have known about its leader’s activities in West Bengal. What is of serious concern to us is the planned infiltration of the known subversive elements into the most sacred and highest corridors of power,” he said.

It is well known that Hassan during his days at Aligarh Muslim University came in touch with SIMI and was given charge of West Bengal and he was also Amir-e-Halka for Jamaat-e-Islami Hind for eastern region of the country. In 1981, Ahmed Hassan started a Bengali magazine Kalam from 19, Dargah Road but later in 1998 shifted to another address on 45, Elliot Road. The Dargah Road office then became a guest house for SIMI. Intelligence agencies have reports of SIMI’s link with Islamic Development Bank, which is headquartered in Abu Dhabi.

There are reports that Ahmed Hassan was the key man for IDB in eastern India while managing director of IDB, Mamul Al-Azam, son of president of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, GolamAzam, is his close friend. After turning Kalam into a daily and having come in contact with Sen, he sold the newspaper to the Saradha group, but remained editor. Hassan was introduced to Sen by Kunal Ghosh, who was a journalist and media advisor to the Saradha group.

These are coming out DESPITE for months, the “gobment” of West Bengal through Police and other elements of the ruling party were busy destroying all possible evidences of the scam – right from the diary of kingpin Sudipto Sen (which contains the details of “payments” made by him to Leaders, CDs containing details of funds collected/deployed, …..)

Now it’s up to the brilliance of Central Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement Directorate to bring out the ACTUAL MASTERMINDS of the mammoth fraud – which sucked out blood, sweat and tears of out millions in West Bengal and used the funds for anti-National activities.

The punishment should be such that it acts as a deterrent for decades to come.

We have told earlier through our blog how warmly People of Nepal gave welcome to him. Our PM even broke security cover to meet people of Nepal,offered Puja in Pashupatinath temple.He delivered heart-warming speech to the parliament of Nepal.In one sentence he won the heart of Nepal.

In domestic sector Modiji told party workers in Goa that he believes in Nation first,Party second & Self last. He gave clear indication that he will take tough decision to revive economy of the State. He first ordered ministers that unnecessary expense of buying new vehicles,unnecessary travel to foreign countries, unnecessary expense for renovation of houses & above all keeping relative as PA should be abandoned.
Second step was disclosed in Parliament while delivering budget in Parliament. Rail minister declared that economy of Rail is destroyed by the coalition compulsion over the years. UPA government understood that even & decided to increase fare of Rail. They were cornered in corruption.Election was round the corner. So they could not show courage to implement that. Sadanad Gowda increased fare of rail as proposed by UPA in budget. He clearly mentioned that NDA has vision to start Bullet trains in India. To implement that vision Railway needs money. He emphasized better facility to customers is his high priority.
The result is visible now.New pictures of train compartments published in media yesterday. It is expected new compartment will be added soon as Railway has started to see profit.

Oil prices has started to fall. Government has decided to decontrol the prices of Diesel now. It gave immense pleasure & relief to the deficit budget system running on over the decades. Investors confidence has grown & sensex achieving new heights every day. It has become clear that Modiji believes in hard work. He has started to transform India by changing work culture & by his vision.
Greatest news came today that the government which is not even crossed 100 days removed gloom.In an apparent sign of revival, the Indian economy expanded by 5.7 per cent during the first quarter of the current financial year to log the highest growth yet in nine quarters, official data showed on Friday. So in 100 days New government has removed over 1000 days of mismanagement. It is just beginning.
Even the growth of agriculture sector is noticed but it is a concern this year due to poor rainfall.

New Government has a vision for the poor. PM has made it clear that his government will work for the poor. He instructed each party MP to make a An Adarsh village this year & 3 Adarsh villages every year from 2015. He has instructed to spend MP Lad fund for creating Ladies toilets in school & villages.

Above all he has declared Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojona for poor.He intends to spread banking system to every poor who do not have bank accounts. On the very first day whooping 1.5 crores new account was created. Impact was so heavy that most banks finished their kits for customers. Later today they had to stop creating new account. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi emphasised repeatedly that Government should be like that who thins for poor,works for the poor. If upliftment of the poor do not happen,Country can not go forward.

So Government has taken another step after giving priority to toilet in every house. It is

Idea is t give Bank account to every one & Every payment is done through Bank. It is an bold step to erase domestic corruption. From Today Every nationalised Bank has started to implement this programme. Please ask all poor people to have account in the first year itself.They will be more benefited rather waiting for the next year.

 What is the features of this Yojona or scheme

The target is to provide bank account to every Indian household. The Yojana would be implemented in phases as follows:

Phase-1: 28 August 2014 till 15 August 2015

Phase-2: August 2015 till August 2018

Benefits of Jan Dhan Yojana

There are many benefits of Jan Dhan account for the Indians:

1)Account holder will receive a kit containing cheque book, financial literacy and pass book

2)Every account holder will get RuPay Debit card (which is India’s domestic debit card) included in the welcome kit. You can read benefits of rupay card here. RuPay card can also be used for eCommerce transactions.

3)Person will also get Aadhar number on the spot

4)Family of account holder will get accident insurance cover of Rs. 1,00,000

5)Personal accident cover limit has increased to Rs. 2,00,000 provided account is opened within first 100 days after launch of the scheme on 28 August 2014

6) Overdraft (loan) facility of Rs. 2000 would be provided once account holder completes 6 months. Thereafter overdraft limit would be extended upto Rs. 5000

7)Loan amount would be increased to Rs. 15,000 if repayment is done on-time by the person. Ofcourse this would depend on each bank

8)Overdraft facility would benefit individuals who had been relying on money lenders charging high interest rates

However in order to avoid overdraft frauds, only Aadhar linked accounts would be eligible for overdraft facility

Farmers dependency on money lenders would reduce as they’ve been relying on money lenders especially in rural areas

Documents required for account opening

Address proof either current or permanent.

If address changes then person needs to submit fresh address proof to the bank. You can read more about the recent know your customer (KYC) norms changed by RBI.

For persons with no valid documents, the account can still be opened by providing self attested photographs, signature/thumb print in front of bank official. However this small account would be valid only for 1 year post that person will have to provide official valid documents which include: Passport, Driving License, PAN card, Voter ID card, Aadhar Letter

Targets:

Most of the public sector banks have set an ambitious target of opening over 1 lac account on day-1

Target of opening 7.5 crore bank accounts in the next few years

Officials from public sector banks (senior employees) will conduct camps and encourage people for opening the bank accounts. Over 60,000 camps would be organized on day-1

Prime minister has sent over 7 lakh E-mails to banks to inform them about PMJDY

Phase-2 would include micro insurance and pension schemes.

A very interesting battle ahead in Bengal.

Bashirhat Dakshin was in the news for quiet some time.It is border place adjacent to Bangladesh.Infact it is only 2.2 KM away from Bangladesh. Border is very porous there. Communist Party of India always won this seat. They have used many ways including giving Ration cards to illegal immigrants. Though CPI won this seat in 2011,TMC-Congress combine lost but political power left from from CPM. TMC Bosses did the same as their friend did. They used the Aadhar Card. So with this CPM, TMC battle to consolidate their vote bank Muslims are 54% in that constituency.

So Bashirhat saw a new trend in 2014 Loksabha election.All the parties except BJP fielded Muslim candidate. 54% Muslim voter was their wish to grab for all,who call themselves Secular & filled Bashirhat with Bangladeshis. Despite of that BJP exceptionally well there. We are now having election on 13th September on Bashirhat Dakshin Bidhan sabha seat, which comes under Bashirhat Loksabha seat. The result of 2014 Loksabha seat gives a good cheer for Bharatiya Janata Party. In that particular Assembly segment resuls like this,

Just notice the name of the candidate. In the race of winning "Secular" votes all parties fielded Muslim candidates. But Hindus were determined to vote one party because of Shri Narendra Modi,All Muslim vote splits & BJP was in lead of more than 30000. Apart from Modiji's factor another important factor worked there, presence & work of Hindu Samhati. Mr.Tapan Ghosh has good command over Hindus there. So it is believed that factor came in as well.

So after election attack of so called "Secularists" increased. Violence occured on 28 th May when Goons of Trinamool Congress attack BJP workers. 30 BJP people got injured after TMC firing in Sandeshkhali. Workers got agitated.Strong reaction came nationally, so on 30th may a central delegation visited area. They had visited the injured in SSKM hospital as well.

Polarisation has taken place already by direct attack of "Secular" goons so result will be repeated in forthcoming 13th September election as well.

To the Unsung Karyakarta : BJP in Bengal (1985-95)

This post is a homage to the efforts of numerous BJP workers and RSS Karyakartas who worked for the cause of the organization under very hostile circumstances over a ten year period between 1985-1995.

This post is not a chronology of facts of the decade that I mention , it is some interesting perspectives that I gathered from my husband Niladri who was himself a BJP supporter, an observer of Bengal politics and also a worker with the party during this period.

The period that I am talking was an era of absolute stranglehold of the Left Front in Bengal . This stranglehold on every aspect of civil society which was  largely causal to the intellectual and moral decay of Bengal .

The frontal organizations of the CPIM (ABTA , DYFI , SFI , CITU et al ),had a total monopoly over education , labor and the so called intelligentsia of the state. The state technically was politically bipolar, which meant a direct political contest between the INC and the Left , however on the ground , beyond the city of Calcutta , INC had limited presence , barring an ABA Gani Khan Chaudhuri who was the only credible source of resistance outside Calcutta to the Left juggernaut . The Red cadre tolerated no dissent and treated anybody who had divergent political views as enemies , something many years later Mamata Banerjee seems to have replicated . Atrocities on opposition workers were never reported (partly because of a complete black out of the press and party due to the lack of social media or internet as a medium of protest)

In this context a few brave hearts attempted to break the stranglehold by holding their ideals dear to their lives. These brave hearts were ordinary workers of the party and the RSS. Jeered continuously and socially ostracized these young men and women took it on themselves to build the party in the land of its founders. In this context it is important to recognize the pathological block of the Bengali intellectual towards what he or she brands as communal politics and identified the Sanghparivar as a protagonist of the same . Groups of ill- informed men spend hours debating on the rise of the proletariat in their addas across Bengal , eulogizing the icons of the Left who were engaged in destroying the work culture and industry in Bengal , leaving the average Bengali jobless . Industries were made unviable and the militant CITU under the garb of championing worker rights destroyed all industries worth mentioning

The Elections of 1989

The General Elections of 1989 was a very special moment for Niladri. He campaigned as a worker in Calcutta and other parts of Bengal. Threatened by CPM goons and jeered by Leftist intellectuals he held his ground and passionately recounted to me what he calls electoral success in Bengal in two seats:Jangipur where Dhananoy Das polled 11/5 % and the famous Shantilal Jain polling 7.4% in Calcutta North West. When he used to narrate this instances to me after our marriage I would find these stats hilarious, how could somebody take pride in being member of an also ran party.

Little did I realise that in the context of Bengal politics , it was indeed a material development 

The Party and Its challenges

The challenge of the growth and the consequential electoral success of the party had nothing to do with the agenda of the people who ran the party. It had more to do with the social fabric of Bengal , which had erroneously lead itself to believe that its emancipating lay in agitating against “something” , often this “something” was the Centre and its policies . A culture of agitationist politics had become part of Bengals psyche. This automatically lead to externalizing its problems and the ability to reflect and grow as people was consequently stunted. The death of Bengal had truly set in …..the world had moved on , Communism had been dealt a death blow by multiple people movements across Europe , but Bengal was unmoved .

A social paralysis of this kind could not be broken through in any meaningful way , and the party continued to languish politically . In the surface of it BJP in Bengal did not exist, its obituary had been written multiple times over …..in these troubled times , our brave hearts held the fort and convinced themselves and the motley group of supporters that “Acche Din” would come to Bengal .

I salute those unnamed men and women who held their own , when there was no chance for the party to see political power in the foreseeable future .It is their guts and gumption that has taken us thus far and will bear political fruit in 2016 

In conclusion

Niladri left Bengal in 1996 and has since been disassociated from mainstream politics  ( though he plans to join the party back soon ..) he had one wish for his homestate , a Bengal free of the Communists , Mamata delivered it to him , but to his dismay she delivered something equally grotesque . He believes that the time for the BJP in Bengal has truly come and prays for its success, in doing so he fondly remembers his fellow workers who kept the saffron flag flying for decades
