The Crocodile Tears

At the outset, the writer submits that the illustrations used in this article are not comfortable. The purpose of choosing such an illustration is just to drive in a point :
a) to expose the “Business of Secularism” and
b) How the present day “Secular” politicians stoop down to nasty filthy levels to garner votes.

When someone is born, he/she is the most precious Gift of God. The Mother undergoes the same degree of labour pain – may it be in Bengal or in Bhutan or in US or in Gaza. The pain the mother endures cannot be demarcated by any International Boundary lines. Also – does an infant knows the difference of being a Hindu, Muslim, Jew, Christian,…. ? Really ?? Oh boy -  the baby itself is a symbol of Creation – symbol of the Almighty Himself – whatever name we choose to call him/her with.
But our nasty and filthy “Secular” politicians does not even spare these children!

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas started with the abduction of 3 Israel boys. Subsequently, these bodies of these 3 abducted boys were found, apparently executed, on June 30, 2014. Israel retaliated by bombing Hamas stronghold in Gaza. And the killings are still on – by both sides. As of August 2, 2014, this conflict has claimed around 1,723 precious human lives. Of these, the most unfortunate part was loss of lives of over 300 innocent children in bombing by Israel. The flip-side is – its alleged that Hamas are using children as human shield in their tactical manoeuvring.
Whatever it is – they children were born to live and not for being killed in bombs.

However – there were a series of condemnation by the Indian political class. And such conflicts taking a toll on human life does need to be condemned. Any doubt ? Never.
However – the beauty of these “Pseudo Seculars” lie somewhere else !

Do we recall the incidences of infant-deaths in our own West Bengal hospitals during recent past (in peace – not in war !) ???
Public memory is a “short Term” memory – to the advantage of such elements who are into business of politics !

Here are the numbers :
·         July – Aug 2014 : 12 infants dies at Jangipur Hospital - Murshidabad
·         July 2014 : 15 infants died in Malda hospital .
·         April 2014 : 15 newborn babies dies in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital
·         September 2013 : 15 babies dies in B C Roy child Hospital, Kolkata
·         July 2013 : 10 infants dies in Malda Medical College and Hospital
·         May 2013 : 16 infants dies in Malda Medical College and Hospital
·         November 2012 : 23 children dies in Malda hospital

Readers will appreciate that it is just disgusting and horrific for any author to pen down such a list. There may be more – but I stop the list here.
But the point is : WHAT IS GOING ON ?????

Men and women in power in West Bengal shed crocodile tears for people dying in Gaza during war.
What does the SAME elements do to STOP INFANT DEATHS IN GOVERNMENT RUN-HOSPITALS - DURING NO WAR ?????

Is it incompetency? Is it abject failure in governance??

Or is it just chest-beating shedding crocodile tears for people dying in Gaza – to secure Muslim votes?

Or is it “Chekular Ga(n)ja” being bombed by “Khomunol Israel” – that causes the immense  unbearable labour-pain to the ruling party leaders of West Bengal ?
Reminds me of a Bengali saying : “Mayer cheye masir dorod besi” (worried about the aunt and not the mother)

Also there are two Bengali words which aptly describe such a mind-set of the current West Bengal Government:
1)      Nyakami (affectation of ignorance)
2)      Adikhkheta (frivolous)

I leave it to the wisdom of the readers to choose which one to be apt. Or may be a mix of the two – the proportion – I again leave to the reader.)
The death of our own children – the unbearable sufferings of our own brothers and sisters whose new-born babies die in government-run hospital (MONTHS AFTER MONTHS)  - seems too trivial/menial to the current leadership of the ruling party in West Bengal.

The ruling party leadership have time and resources (of a depleted treasury) to arrange dancing with Mumbai film-stars, go to Singapore to “attract” industries (Oh God !!!), award “Nayaks” (actors) and “Maha Nayaks” (great actors) to Khalnayaks (evil actors) – but perhaps NO TIME AND MONEY to even address such a basic human suffering – right under their noses.

The million dollar question:  is this mis-governance or treachery or treason?
