Know Your Enemies

The current socio-political situation in West Bengal as well as the governance environment can probably be best described in a single word - “grim”. The State Government (more known as “gobment”) is deep into a state of ideologically vacuum (well – did any ideology ever existed ?) and it has become a great challenge in itself to find out few names amongst the MPs / MLAs / local leaders who does not have a criminal / Sharada Scam / Jamaet link.

However, the fact remains, these people of the ruling Trinamool Congress are the ones who decides on the fate of the millions of Indians (as well as a few crore of illegal Bangladeshis now made voters) of the State.

In our series of Know Your Enemies, we would be highlighting the true colour and  behind a few current political personalities who rules Bengal today. Mr Mukul Roy is one such personality – the master strategist (read : manipulator) of the present ruling Trinamool Congress known to be amongst the inner-most circle of the Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee. He is amongst those selected few who decide on the life as well as future of the vast population of West Bengal.

Here is Mr MukulRoy :

Born in Kancharapara (suburban of Kolkata) on April 17, 1954 to Late Sri JugalNath Roy and Late SmtRekha Roy, Mukul Roy. His political prominence rose to the peak when he was sent to Rajya Sabha in April 2006. He held various ministerialberthin the UPA Government such as Ministry of Shipping (Minister of State), Minister of Railways).  He was also a Non-Executive Director (as a social worker) of United Bank of India.

He is the General Secretary, A.I.T.C. since April 2008.

Mukul Roy is known to be the most trusted lieutenant of Ms Mamata Banerjee and hence the power centre in TMC circles. He generally prefers to maintain a “low key” and is not flamboyant (and thus  expose himself) like his various co-partyment like Madan Mitra or Tapas Pal (!).

And that’s exactly where the brilliance of this man is.

Over the last few years – in fact only a few months after Trinamool Congress came to power in West Bengal, the Party as well as the Government has been battered by allegations of direct involvement in various heinous acts of crime like stonewalling Sharada Scam investigation (through State Govt instituted SIT), numerous rapes and murders, atrocities on women, atrocities by the auto-drivers, etc. Also the present State Government is accused of total failure in almost all spheres of governance – be it in revival of Industrial Sector or Health or the beleaguered Tea Industry (unique of its kind in the world).

The Burdwan Blast as well as other bomb blasts which has shaken Bengal during the last few months is alleged to have exposed the deep connection between the ruling TMC Leadership, Sharad Scam, encouragement of illegal Bangladeshis to cross-over the border (and vote for TMC). Not surprisingly, many MPs, Ministers and Leaders of Trinamool today are either behind bars in Sharada Scams or are being interviewed by CBI / ED.

But rumors aside, where is the name of Mukul Roy in all these scams ?
As a General Secretary (implying Number Two in the hierarchy of TMC after Supremo Ms mamata Banerjee), Mukul Roy is still not arrested!

It’s a different matter that every child in Bengal knows that Mukul is supposedly neck-deep into all the scams and wrong-doings of the Trinamool-led Bengal today – BUT he is still roaming free.

Well – with ALL the filth and stink of the current TMC-led government, will even a fool/idiot will ever believe that the Number One (also referred as #JihadiDidi)  in Social Media) as well as Number Two of the Party are not directly involved in the wrong doings ???

Yes – the brilliant mastermind manipulator, Sri Mukul Roy, is yet to be formally charged by CBI/ED in Sharada Scam.

It is also alleged that in his younger days, Mukul was a known as a “Master” wagon-breaker of Kancharapara. However – not a single criminal case till date could nail Mr Mukul Roy of his actions as a wagon-breaker !

Probably given this exceptional ability of getting all rotten things “done” without directly having his name into the rot has earned Mukulthe post of being the most trusted lieutenant to the Supreme Command of Trinamool Congress.

Modi, Janakpur & the strategic geopolitical warfare

A little over 180 days into Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration, not even his fiercest critic is able to find fault with the way he has gone around the globe strengthening India's soft power. Suddenly we have a PM who isn’t afraid of wearing Hinduism on his sleeves & is inspiring Indians as well as people outside India on the beauty, wisdom, knowledge & intellectual capabilities of ancient India.

So what is it about Narendra Modi that gives sleepless nights to enemies & visions of a wonderful future to his supporters?? The first generations of BJP leaders (Vajpayee, Advani etc) were deferential to the Gandhi dynasty, unable to break the shackles imposed by the mainstream media, happy with opposition role & unable to counter anti RSS/BJP narrative so assiduously forced on the Indian public by the Indian mainstream media. The elevation of Narendra Modi changed all this. Here is a man vilified & abused for 12 years; yet having gumption to stand & take on the minions of the Gandhi dynasty. For the first time, since independence, we have a Prime Minister who clearly abhors dynastic politics, isn't amused with special trappings enjoyed by the Gandhi dynasty and gives scant respect to privy purses, pleasures, & privileges established by Marxists & sycophants.

There is an active ecosystem thriving in India on Nehruvian antiquity & systematic national/international doles- a powerful cabal of NGOs, missionaries, activists, Naxals, communists, leftists & Marxists etc that have steered India's discourse since independence & so incestuous it is, no competing thought or ideology was allowed to flourish. RSS & Jan Sangh (earlier avatar of BJP) were systematically demonized & internationally vilified while this group. With the Gandhi dynasty as its fountainhead, they have steadily moth eaten India, its history, its past, its aspirations & its dynamic cultural heritage. This same ecosystem was spread to Nepal 1989 onwards with the help of administrations of Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi & Scandinavian countries. There is now a similarly powerful cabal in Nepal surviving on Anti India propaganda with funding from US/Europe & China.

Nepal, if you all recall, was the world's only Hindu country before the country was declared a republic in 2008. The Congress led UPA was responsible for 12 point charter signed by the Nepali parties & the Maoists in 2005 in Delhi, which uprooted monarchy & imposed secularism in Nepal. Almost two decades earlier, in 1989, Rajiv Gandhi had forced a blockade, which resulted in collapse of absolute rule of the king & beginning of multi party system. While on surface, nothing seems wrong with this interference, it's important to note that, with multi party system, missionaries were allowed entry into Nepal for the first time in 1990. With missionaries came NGOs & with NGOs came the funds to balkanize Nepal. By 1996, Nepal was already starting to battle a Maoist insurgency.

Interesting thing about the Maoist insurgency was that only Hindu/Buddhist heritages were assaulted. Christianity was allowed to flourish; churches were planted in every nook and corner-none attacked, none run down & all allowed spreading unchecked. After 2004, Congress led UPA again started interfering in Nepal with its sole aim to abolish monarchy, collapsing of the Hindu state & a sinister design of balkanization under the guise of federalism. This was going unchecked until something unthinkable happened in May 2014- Narendra Modi was elected Prime Minister of India with a full majority.

Already the 2 day visit in August had international interlopers in Nepal worried. It was for the first time that an Indian Prime Minister had come to Nepal and won hearts of common Nepalis & India-Nepal bilateral relation kick started & was on an upswing. The relationship, Modi's personal interest in Nepal and the general feel good reached a crescendo when PM Modi announced visit to Janakpur & Lumbini (both in Terai & bordering India).

Janakpur is historically a very important pilgrimage site to Hindus- the town is named after King Janak of Ramayan, the father of Sita, consort of King Ram of Ayodhya. The Janaki Mandir in Janakpur is a palatial complex that hosts the annual Ram-Sita Vivah Samaroh, which is attended by devotees from all over India & Nepal. Janakpur today is neglected by the state & the town is dirty, with broken down infrastructure & resembles a ghost town, a far cry from its heyday when it enjoyed patronage from the King of Nepal.

When PM Modi announced his visit to Janakpur, the entire town went up in celebration. Finally, a world leader had chosen to visit it & someone no less than the Indian premier. Roads were cleaned, repaired, the town was painted- Janakpur got a complete makeover. Modi was scheduled to visit the Janaki Mandir and then give a speech at the local barah bigha ground. Everything was hunky-dory; only that it wasn't anticipated by cultural imperialists & foreign interlopers of modern Nepal and what PM Modi planned in Janakpur didn’t fit in the long term scheming they've planned for Nepal.

The opposition came in waves- from I/NGOs & missionaries financed by Scandinavian countries to political parties owing allegiance to China (China funds them through Pakistan), everyone on foreign payroll, started creating a ruckus. Print media was overrun with concerns of supposedly Indian hegemonic designs & with money power; a national consensus was attempted to show that the speech Modi was to give was against international norm & diplomatically a ruse to make Nepal a satellite state of Nepal. It failed miserably when Janakpur went on strike demanding PM Modi visit as planned and make the speech as was originally stated.
So why was the Janakpur incident blown out of proposition & the current good relationship between India & Nepal held hostage? Nepal is the gateway to pin down India effectively. One of the first tasks of PM Modi was repairing relationship with Nepal which had withered into oblivion during Congress/UPA rule. Nepal is strategically very sensitive to India's security concerns. Congress/ UPA methodically created upheavals in Nepal, allowing it to be infested by ISI & China also moved in taking advantage to encircle India from the North. Pakistan regularly sends jihadis & terrorists into India from Nepal, taking advantage of the 1700 kilometers of open & porous border. Madrassas have mushroomed along the India-Nepal border & the entire Terai belt of Nepal is used by China & Pakistan to bleed India dry.

Missionaries are also very active in Nepal and missionary NGOs launder money through Nepal to India to avoid stringent foreign exchange laws in India. Further, due to continued information/education & political implication of missionary activities in India, missionaries are training & financing poor Nepalis and sending them as bible proponents into India (as Nepalis don’t require visa/residency permits). Foreign missionaries also used to enter India from Nepal as tourists before 2012 using human mules to carry cash. This kind of infiltrating India has lessened considerably after the UPA government in November 2012 quietly relaxed the restriction of entry & stay of missionaries implemented on the recommendation of the Niyogi Commission in 1956, without informing or debating the issue in the Indian parliament.

This is why there is a cottage industry in India against Narendra Modi and this is why there is also an anti India cottage industry in Nepal. The active cabal in Nepal today-the foreign interlopers, missionaries & Scandinavian countries-forever scavenging on ethnic conflicts-are all on a tailspin with the rise of Modi & BJP in India. The discourse they’ve pushed Nepal into since 1990 can be easily unraveled if Narendra Modi & BJP continues to rule India. Janakpur is just one of the battlegrounds- as PM Modi grows stronger and India's relationship with Nepal continues to become better-a lot is yet to be fought and a lot more is yet to be understood.

Mission Sonar Bangla: Minority Population - a reality check

In West Bengal Hindus are the majority with 72.47 per cent (58 millions), while Muslims constitute as the largest minority community with 25.25 per cent (20 millions). The Muslims in West Bengal resides across the state and yet their concentration varies substantially. These two communities (Hindus and Muslims) share more than 97 per cent to the total population. The above table shows the trends of Muslims population (1951-2041) in West Bengal. In 1951 Muslim population accounted for 19.85 percent. The dominating position of the share of Hindu population continued, but then share decline from 78.45 per cent in 1951 to 72.47 per cent in 2001 (Census of India, 2001).

Although, all religious communities have increased but among them Muslims have more positive growth in terms of percentage shares to the total population. If this growth continue in the same trend the share of Muslim population by 2041 is estimated to be 29.36 per cent and share of Hindu population is estimated to be 69.28 per cent. Overall, it has been observed that Muslims have been experiencing higher population growth rates than the Hindus and this is sometimes made into a political issue. Demographers have observed that the higher growth rate among Muslims is mainly due to their higher fertility rate, to some extent be associated with their low socio-economic and educational status.

Distribution of Muslim Population

The highest share of Muslim population with 63.67 percent (i.e. 3735380) is found in the district of Murshidabad while the district of Darjeeling has lowest share with 5 percent (i.e.85378) of total population. Three clusters of districts are made according to the concentration of Muslim population with the help of their mean and standard deviation which is shown in the Table-2.

Muslim concentrated districts:

It may be consider that the districts where the concentration is more than 32.91 percent may called as ‘’Muslim concentrated districts. It is evident from the table that out of the 18 districts of the state, 5 districts shows relatively higher concentration of Muslim population. They are Murshidabad (63.67), Malda (49.72), Uttar Dinajpur (47.36), Birbhum (35.08) and S 24 Parganas (33.24), forming a continuous region of high concentration of Muslim population in the middle parts of the state.

Medium slab of Muslim concentration:

Muslim population ranging from 16.95-32.91 percent of the total population is considered as the ‘medium slab of Muslim concentration’’ which include the districts of Nadia (25.41), Howrah (24.44), Coooch Bihar (24.24), N 24 Parganas (24.22), Dakshin Dinajpur (24.02), Kolkata (20.27) and Bardhaman(19.78)

Low Muslim concentrated districts:

Further, the districts where the Muslim population is less than 16.95 of the total population may be called as ‘‘low Muslim concentrated districts. Remaining six districts fall under „low concentrations of Muslims, these districts form two notable region in the state, Jalpaiguri (10.85) and Darjeeling (5.31) in the northern parts and Hooghly (15.14) Medinipur (11.33), Bankura (7.51) and Purulia (7.12) in the south-western part of the state.

Conclusion

Basically except the few districts the minority population in rest of Bengal is similar to that in rest of India. One major milestone in BJP’s journey in West Bengal is when Samik da won the Basirhat seat for BJP against all odds where there is 54% minority population and TMC put all their weight along with camping of their national secretary and countless other heavy weights including many film stars. It was only one seat and TMC put all its weight to stop BJP and they have failed.  In future elections they have to fight in many seats and their party machinery would be distributed and divided among all the seats so they would not be able to hold their fort for long in front of the Modi Sunami. BJP need to focus on the development agenda and the party must give ticket to hard working candidates who have clean image. People of Bengal is eagerly waiting to cast their votes for the real change towards making Sonar Bangla and BJP has a great future in West Bengal.

The writing is on the wall: BJP can win any seat and every seat in West Bengal.
