Land and Water resolved, Terror yet to be

Land Swapping
A lot of hard work went through for settling land swapping bill. As soon as NDA formed government they took up this issue as topmost priority, still it took a year as numbers of Indian states were involved in it – Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam & most importantly West Bengal which shares maximum length of border with Bangladesh.

A Diagramatic Representation of Indo-Bangladesh Enclaves
Very few changes were done in Ministry of External Affairs after PM Narendra Modi took over, but why Congress wasn’t able to do what new government has done in a year? Presently none of the states which share border with Bangladesh is ruled by the ruling party of India, still they managed to address the issue and draw a permanent solution. During UPA time, Congress was in power in all states, even TMC was an ally in Congress lead UPA, Congress till date is ruling in Assam since last 10 years. Manmohan Singh, our Ex-PM could not get his own party & ally on board. One can easily see his failure as head of the administration. Mr Narendra Modi made it possible. Lot of deliberation took place. Some changes were made in the land swap deal in adjoining Assam & Bengal . Locals of the those states had objection, so land swap with Bangladesh was drafted accordingly & passed in both houses of Parliament.

Buisness Standard wrote on 6th may
Showing laudable statesmanship, the Union Cabinet cleared on Tuesday the 119th Amendment to the Constitution, meant to implement the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) with Bangladesh. And the very next day, Wednesday, the Rajya Sabha passed the Amendment Bill with no votes against it. It had earlier appeared that a truncated version of the LBA would be presented to Parliament, in which disputed areas in the state of Assam would not be included. This was, correctly, being seen as an unacceptable capitulation to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s local unit, whose politics in the region would have been well-served by keeping the issue of the Bangladesh border simmering. Prime Minister Narendra Modi deserves full credit for finally choosing to overlook this demand and moving ahead with the complete agreement. A truncated LBA would have been difficult to pass through Parliament, the Congress having declared its opposition to anything but the complete agreement, on the lines of what was signed between then prime minister Manmohan Singh and his Bangladeshi counterpart, Sheikh Hasina, in 2011. The government’s decision that settling the issue was more important than transitory political gain shows both wisdom and vision.”

Teesta Water Sharing
Another issue which is going to get addressed on Prime Ministers’s visit to Bangladesh on 6th & 7th June 2015, is Teesta water sharing. It covers 5 states instead of 4 as in land sharing deal. Again this was a massive diplomatic failure on the part of Mr Manmohan Singh. Again he was unable to persuade his own party and allies. A Huge hydro project will help Sikkim and Bengal. Bangladesh will get proper share of water which will help their irrigation. It will hugely help their water transport as well Fishery. Hilsa is the fish for which Bangladesh is known for. It will be a huge boost to irrigation in North Bengal as 9.22 Lakh hectares of land will get adequate water for irrigation. So in the coming days Agriculture of North Bengal will get a huge boost.

Terror
Now let us see the map of Bangladesh & our adjoining states carefully,
Kolkata is nearest to the Bangladesh district & city Khulna and Maldah is nearest to Rajsahi. Rajsahi is the place where Bangladesh Jamaet-i-Islami was born. Bangladesh has seen lot of violence under the influence of Jamat. Lot of bloodshed and systematic elimination of Hindus took place, even an entire village was made man-less by these people. Ultimately Bangladesh Supreme court has termed Bangladesh Jamaet-i-Islami illegal on 1st August 2013.

In West Bengal, we had left rule for 34 years. During their tenure, regular use of Bangladeshi infiltrators into vote machinery had made made election a farce in West Bengal. TMC came to power in 2011 and took the exactly the same way Left has shown. So it was very easy for Jamats to establish old contact with TMC. Maldah and Murshidabad are the districts where huge terror network were established. We have seen, during NIA investigation after Burdwan blast, that how they have had chosen Burdwan and spread their network in Burdwan, Birbhum along with Maldah and Murshidabad. NIA has found lot of leaders of banned outfit Jamat were camping in Bengal and  even spreading their network through Southern India. Southern Indian module is keeping contact with Middle east.

Now look at the State we have marked in the Map given above. We have huge concern for this particular state Tripura. Agartalla is closest Indian city from Bangladesh Capital Dhaka. Agartalla is not very far from Sylhet as well. We are worried about recent terror activities that has shocked Bangladesh as well as our soil as neighbor. Abhijit Roy, Washiqur Rahman, Ananta Bijay Das were murdered. Though Intellectuals in India will say they were atheist but the fact is two of them belong to Hindu community. They were targeted as they were writing against Muslim fanaticism and illogical belief. All three were murdered in the same brutal way. Ananta Bijay was murdered in Sylhet and Abhijeet was murdered in Dhaka. Both the cities are very near to Agartalla. Ansarullah named terrorist group claimed responsibility of Abhijit Murder. Later Al-queda claimed responsibility of same murder. Bangladeshi intelligence feels that Ansarullah is an Al-qaeda sponsored terror wing. Bangladesh administration has banned Ansarulla as well few days back. Where will they go? They will target border places of Indians side similar to what Jamats did. It is quiet natural that after Burdwan blast & subsequent NIA investigation it has become hard for the Bangladeshi terrorist to operate from Bengal. Thus it is evident that they will have their full concentration on three other states with which Bangladesh is sharing border.

In the present scenario Revoking AFSPA from Tripura is extremely dangerous and irresponsible act by the Left Government ruling there. It will only give safe passage to Ansarullah or Alqueda activists to enter through Tripura and other North Eastern states. Tripura is the last bastion of Left so they are trying to ensure that they stay in power with Bangladeshi infiltrators, but It will of serious concern to the security of other Indian states as well.

We hope Central Government led by Narendra Modi will take note of it. We also believe this matter should be discussed with Bangladeshi PM with utmost seriousness like Land Swap & Teesta Water Sharing issues.
